Tarheel Safe & Lock, Inc. offers a complete security service, from rekeying your locks and adding deadbolts to installing alarm systems as well as electronic access control systems.

We also provide a full line of CCTV or video surveillance systems. We provide these services for your home as well as your business, no matter the size. We have been providing security services for more than thirty years.

We primarily serve Rowan County as well as Cabarrus, Iredell, Davidson, and Stanly counties. We also do work in the surrounding states of South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

Our Team

Steve Stroud started Tarheel Safe & Lock, Inc. in 1989 and incorporated 2002. His oldest son, Brad Stroud, worked with him when school was out and came on board full-time in 2005. Andrew Stroud came on board in 2008 after serving in the US Army in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Steve Stroud is a Marine Corp vet who is currently in his 48th year in law enforcement. He worked 13 years in corporate security for a large grocery chain and was responsible for the physical security of all corporate assets. Dealing with locksmiths all over the southeast, Steve found an opportunity to start his own business in 1989.

Andrew Stroud

Sales Representative

Andrew was serving in Iraq and found out that he wouldn’t be able to re-enlist because of hearing damage. The job market being what it is, his dad offered him an opportunity to come work with him and his brother.

Teresa Stroud

Office Manager

The business grew rapidly and Steve’s wife Teresa came on board to manage the office and over 150 subcontracted locksmiths.

Tommy Fields

Locksmith Technician

Tommy Fields worked for one of our contractors in Virginia and handled our needs there. He and his wife wanted to move to the Lake Norman area. I was needing another locksmith and we brought Tommy on to our team in January 2020. He has definitely been an asset to our team.

Brad Stroud

Locksmith Technician

Brad enjoyed working with his dad in Locksmithing and the company he worked for was laying off hundreds of employees. He saw an opportunity to join his dad full-time before his number came up in 2005.

Jennifer Stroud

Administrative Assistant

Jennifer Stroud is Brad’s wife and taught elementary school for 13 years. She became frustrated with the administration policies that created little opportunity to teach. Teresa desperately needed help in the office and Jennifer agreed to come help out. She has become an integral part of our team.
